Tech Expert Raja Venkatraman Decodes SEBI’s New Closing Auction Session and Derivatives Timings

Tech expert Raja Venkatraman, Co-Founder of NeoTrader and trading influencer, decodes SEBI’s revised closing auction session (CAS) framework. A 10-minute CAS will run from 3:30 pm to 3:40 pm on regular trading days, with the closing reference price based on the VWAP of the last 15 minutes of trade. Index derivatives will trade till 3:45 pm on regular days and stop at 3:30 pm on expiry days, while stock derivatives will trade till 3:45 pm, including on expiry days. The changes take effect from December 7, 2026.
